46th Annual Texas Folk Life Festival

The Texas Folklife Festival is the biggest cultural celebration in Texas! More than 40 different cultural groups in Texas are represented at the festival, and each year, more than 250 participants come together to celebrate their culture and heritage. Located on the grounds of the Institute of Texan Cultures on the UTSA Hemisfair Campus, this year’s two-day event once again showcases the Lone Star State's diversity and rich heritage through a wide variety of ethnic food, music, dance, arts, and crafts.

100% NDN, a play written and directed by Isaac A. Cardenas. Starring Jesse Borrego.
The Story: Nightbear and his family discover conflict and the rage of dying love for one another as they struggle for acknowledgment of their cultural identity from others and to prove that they are Naturally Designed Natives.

About the Play : This original Theater / Dance production featuring accomplished film actor and dancer Jesse Borrego, tells the story of Nightbear and his family who discover the unresolved conflict among Native American Indian people. Together they must all navigate through the rage and dying love for one another as Indigenous brothers and sisters on the Island of the Turtle. Who is a Native American, American Indian, First Nation or Aboriginal? Who decides if you are full blood, half blood, quarter blood? We are all the sum of our parts. All human, one hundred percent and fully Native.
